EJOT recarb® stands for a consistent approach to a climate-friendly supply chain.
With recarb®, we offer screws and cold-formed parts made from CO₂-reduced tempered steel that combine performance and sustainability – certified, transparent and technically proven.
What is the recarb® programme?
The recarb® programme is part of EJOT's sustainability strategy.
The aim is to measurably reduce emissions throughout the entire value chain by using CO₂-reduced steel.
A special tempered steel is used to manufacture our recarb® fasteners, which:
- consists of a high proportion of secondary steel (recycled content),
- is produced in an electric arc furnace using 100% renewable electricity.
Compared to conventional wire material, recarb® enables CO₂ savings of at least 55% – while maintaining the same EJOT product quality.
Technically tested and transparently certified
Since 2023, recarb® wire material has been tested in all EJOT production processes and meets all specifications.
The product carbon footprint (PCF) is calculated in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14067 and ISO 22095.
A calculation tool programmed in-house for this purpose has been successfully validated by TÜV Süd in accordance with the aforementioned standards since 2025.
Two ways to obtain your recarb® product
1. Purchase via the credit system
With the EJOT credit system, you can purchase CO₂-reduced fasteners – flexibly, without having to change your current projects.
You decide on a specific sustainable tonnage and receive an official credit certificate in return. EJOT undertakes to process this amount of recarb® steel.

2. 1:1 sales – physically CO₂-reduced products
Alternatively, we offer direct 1:1 sales.
